Telling a child to "breathe" in a stressful situation might make perfect sense to us adults, but to a growing brain swimming in "survival" mode (aka. ground floor brain), it just doesn't land, and often goes unheard. I have personally used the "blow out candles" technique with my own children and have had amazing results! They are now able to tap into this resource when under stress, and only need the small cue of "candles!" to remember to engage in it! Watch my mini-video below to find out more!
