Reflections of lock-down life.
My babies,
I'm so sorry this world is so hostile, and that your childhood has been momentarily paused. I'm so sorry you are being exposed too soon to the darker side of the human condition, to rigid rules, fear and the dystopian whispers of a society divided.
It wasn't in your fathers or my wildest dreams that this would ever be your reality.
Yet while we can't change what the world is doing, we can PRAY for change, and teach you to lean in, and do the same.
We can teach you what it means to love unconditionally and have compassion, even what you don't like each other (or us for that matter - and that's ok!)... and especially, show you that holding onto hope, and solidarity as a family will overcome any obstacle, and make beauty once again from ashes.
